Top Gauteng achiever encourages 2014 matriculants

Having put the spotlight on Boksburg with ten 10 distinctions, Nikisha Baijan, from Sunward Park High School, still needs University funding.

Baijan was announced as one of five Gauteng matriculants to obtain 10 distinctions in the National Senior Certificate exams.

Baijan is registered to study accounting this year, and has a contract with a private company, which is paying a portion of her tuition expenses.

Baijan says she is also waiting the outcome of other bursary funding.

“When my studies are complete, the company will allow me to complete my articles for three years,” she says.

Baijan had been preparing for the finals since the start of her matric year.

“I was determined and stayed positive from the beginning of the year, the pressure really helped me stay focused,” she says.

“Baijan admits that it wasn’t easy achieving such great results, but says it wasn’t hard either.
Its possible for any matriculant to achieve this if they believe in themselves,” she adds.

She encourages 2014 matriculants to stay determined and keep a positive attitude.
