Barloworld raises big bucks for Breast Heath Foundation
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Barloworld Handling held a charity auction under the theme “Power of a Pink Lift”.
The event, which was held on Friday, October 25, served as a fundraiser for the Breast Heath Foundation.
The aim of the fundraiser was also to reduce the stigma of breast cancer through proper education on its symptoms and options on treatment.
Through the auction of a pink forklift, Barloworld managed to raise R56 000.
This was after one of the bidders Mario Blaževic made the highest bid.
During the event, speakers from Helen Joseph Breast Care Centre, Milpark Hospital Breast Care Centre of Excellence and Breast Heath Foundation explained and promoted the importance of early detection.
