Bring gifts of love for angels

Zandi's Angel Home in Boksburg North will be celebrating the festive season a little bit earlier this year, thanks to Energizer, the East Rand Mall and the Boksburg Advertiser.

Zandi’s Angel Home is an orphanage operated by Boksburg North SAPS Capt Phineas Madlala and his wife, Zandi, since 2010.

The home takes care of 42 orphans between the ages of three months and 16 years – a number that is constantly growing.

To take part in the initiative, shoppers can collect a gift bag at the East Rand Mall information kiosk, situated between Entrances Two and Three, from October 1 to November 20.

Shoppers are then encouraged to fill the bag with a gift listed on the children’s wish list.

The filled gift bags need to be returned to the Energizer stand, that will be located behind the kiosk, between November 21 and 24.

On December 9 the gifts will be handed out to the children during a party.

“We believe everyone has the power to make a positive impact,” says Rashmi Vadivelu, brand manager for Energizer South Africa.

“We feel that we need to get involved in the local community and this project gives us the opportunity to make a difference with children who are in need of a smile during the festive season,” says Boksburg Advertiser sales cadet, Ricardo de Souza.
