Bad ending for H2O party

Two people were injured after a man allegedly opened fire at Wild Waters during the H2O party.

Thousands of party people flocked to the local venue on September 28 for H2O’s 15th Year Anniversary.

The event was, however, almost spoiled after a man pulled out and used a gun during the party.

Boksburg North SAPS head of detectives, Lieut-Col Peter Kgomo, confirmed that one of the victims was shot while the other was struck with the firearm.

“One suspect was arrested following the incident and after appearing in court on Monday, October 30, the case was remanded for October 24,” says Kgomo.

H2O partygoer, Ricardo De Souza, says the party was one of the best that he had been to.

“Maybe it was so great because there were more dance floors this year, and the party was spread out,” he says.

When probed about the security measures that were put in place on the day, he said that security was beefed up inside the event, but could’ve been better at the entrance.

De Souza admits that he was not searched at the entrance, which he says may be a cause for concern.

Paul Forbes of Wild Waters says he believes adequate security measures were put in place on the day.

“The guy obviously smuggled the gun in, but we don’t know how; Wild Waters is a big establishment,” says Forbes.

The event hosted over 100 of the country’s top DJs and live acts on 10 different dance floors.
