50-year reunion at UWC
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) invites all graduates and former students, in Boksburg and surrounding areas, to attend the 60s and 70s alumni reunion.
The aim of the event is to welcome back the founding graduates to reconnect, share their stories and see how the institution is building on the foundation of their legacy.
There were 17 students in the university’s first graduation ceremony in 1953, and now more than 4 000 students graduate annually.
The weekend-long reunion is open to all UWC alumni, and will include a breakfast with the rector, an afternoon programme of fun for the family, campus tours, a formal dance, a jazz evening and a remembrance service.
The reunion will be held from Friday, October 4, to Sunday, October 6, at UWC’s Bellville campus.
