And the top 3 teams are …

Last weekend saw the teams complete their last task in the heat rounds of the Caxton Reynolds Race 2013.

The last heat round took the participating teams to the Korsman’s Ice Cream Factory in Benoni, after which they also had to go to the Korsman Bird Sanctuary in Lakefield, Benoni.

Results of this last heat round are as follows:

The Benoni City Times team, Jenny Seaton-Smith and Kate Rheeders came in first, the Southern Courier team, Dheshan and Prema Naran are in second place, and the Springs Advertiser team, Dennis and Marisa Williams are in third.

The top three teams to go through to the finals are, in no particular order, Benoni City Times (Jenny Seaton-Smith and Kate Rheeders), Brakpan Herald (Arauna and Bianca Bezuidenhout) and the Springs Advertiser team (Dennis and Marisa Williams).

On September 21, the top three teams in the overall competition will compete for the ultimate prize of a free holiday for four to Mauritius.

These three teams will complete a series of tasks, starting in front of the SA Reynolds Travel Centre in Springs.

Here they will have to complete a challenge as a team, and then continue to their next destination once judges are satisfied with their execution of the challenge.

At 9am that same morning residents are invited to join organisers, sponsors and local performers at the Boksburg Rugby Club for a family fun day, with food stalls representing the various cultures living in South Africa.

Flea market stalls will also be available and a cooking competition will be held where the winner will walk away with a culinary course sponsored by Capsicum Culinary Studio.

The top three teams will join us at the rugby club once they have completed all their tasks, and the first team to arrive will be crowned the winners of the Caxton Reynolds Race 2013.

To book a stall or for more information contact Esther Labuschagne on 011 916 5300.
