Swanepoel ready to return to hexagon

Swanepoel’s last appearance in the hexagon was at EFC 73 in December 2019.

Van Dyk Park fighter Robert “9mm” Swanepoel is excited to be returning to cage action at EFC 87m, which is scheduled to take place at the Performance Institute on July 3.

The welterweight bout, which will see Swanepoel face Pietie “Thunder” Coxen, will be Swanepoel’s first MMA fight since the beginning of lockdown.

“My last fight was in December 2019 when I took on a 48-hour notice fight against Conrad Seabi at EFC8,” he said.

Swanepoel, whose record is 0-3-1, is confident he is ready to get back into the hexagon.

“I can’t wait to get back in there. I’m training twice a day at the Apex South Gym with head coach Tiny Strauss,” he added.

The local fighter’s message to his opponent: “I hope you are ready for war.”
