Boksburg team scoops medals in ESKF British Open Championships

The success of the group helps to keep the athletes motivated amid the disruptive pandemic.

These athletes took part in the ESKF British Open Championships online tournament, and they received their medals all the way from London.

The Parkrand-based Goju Karate Academy team won four gold, one silver and five bronze medals in the ESKF British Open Championships online tournament.

According to Tarryn Madgwick (fourth dan instructor), the local athletes recently competed against 276 athletes from 22 countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and Slovakia.
Management and the team of athletes are delighted with the success of the group, which is now preparing for another world championships online tournament to be held next month.

“We are extremely proud of our athletes. Such activities help to keep us busy and motivated amid the disruptive pandemic,” said Madgwick.
