One injured in accident
ER24 paramedics were called out to an accident at the intersection of North Rand and Rondebult roads, where a vehicle had caught alight on Wednesday morning, August 14.
According to Glen Orritt, spokesperson for ER24, when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found that two vehicles had collided at the intersection.
“Emergency services were on scene and busy extinguishing the fire that came from a Mercedes-Benz,” he says.
Orritt adds that the driver and occupant had managed to escape before being injured by the fire.
“The driver was assessed by paramedics, and was not visibly injured and advised that he would seek further medical attention if needed at a later stage.
“The driver and occupant of the Kia sustained moderate injuries, and were transported by emergency services to a nearby hospital for further care,” he says.
