Saving lives with blood donations
The South African Blood Services appeals to all blood donors to donate blood on Women’s Day, with their Save One, Two, Three Lives Campaign, at the East Rand Square blood donor centre.
The centre will be opened between 10am and 3pm for donors to give their gift of life.
Activities during the event include blood typing: Where you get to know what blood type you are for free, and get to know how your blood type can help others, blood donation and prize giveaway, which will serve as a thank you gift.
Blood Donor Requirements
- 16 years of age and older.
- Weigh 50kg and above.
- Healthy on the day of the blood donation.
- Leading a safe sexual lifestyle.
- Know you blood is safe.
