U3A members to embark on Peru adventure with their next guest speaker
He will address the organisation during its monthly meeting on September 10.
Travel enthusiast Peter Hargreaves is set to take members of the U3A to the major habitats of Peru, including the Sechura Desert, Amazon Rain Forest and islands off the coast of Lima.
Hargreaves will address the organisation’s members during its monthly meeting on September 10 at Northfield Methodist Church, Aerodrome Drive, Benoni.
He has travelled to over 78 countries across all seven continents.
His talk will also include Peru’s Andean Cloud Forest, the Andes Mountains and the ancient city of Machu Picchu.
“Peter enjoyed physical geography at school and started his bucket list of places to visit, many of them in forbidden or out-of-reach places,” said the U3A’s Colleen Russell.
“His love of travel compliments his birding passion and enables him to search for interesting birds in interesting places.
“This is not-to-be-missed audio-visual armchair travel at its best. Bring a friend and come to be entertained and have a cup of tea afterwards.”
The meeting starts at 10:30.
