Ekon Kai Karate Club members shine at Bronkhorstspruit tournament

Members of the Ekon Kai Karate Club from Ramaphosa delivered outstanding performances at a recent tournament organised by the Kyokushin Sonoda group in Bronkhorstspruit.

The event witnessed five karateka from the club competing fiercely, with four of them securing first and second-place honours.

The tournament brought together karate practitioners from various regions, highlighting the dedication and expertise within the martial arts community.

The club members, who are also learners at Oosrand Secondary School, proved their mettle and brought immense pride to their community with their exceptional performances.

Shihan Moeti Holomo, the instructor of the Ekon Kai Karate Club, expressed pride in his students’ achievements.

“Their hard work, discipline, and dedication have paid off, and they have set a remarkable example for others to follow.”

“Among the participants, each member exhibited a high level of skill and determination. The victories were hard-earned, showcasing the technical prowess and mental fortitude of the karateka.

“We will also have another tournament coming up in Soweto and we hope that we win.”

Holomo believes that the triumphs of the members at the Kyokushin Sonoda tournament have not only brought accolades to the club but have also inspired many within their community.

“The success of these karateka serves as an inspiration to their peers and underscores the importance of commitment and perseverance in the martial arts.”
