Metro to start cleaning Boksburg Cemetery today

Boksburg Advertiser last week again reported on the state of the cemetery after a reader sent in photos.

Boksburg Advertiser last week again reported on the state of the Boksburg Cemetery after a reader sent in photos and a complaint about the facility being in a horrific condition.

City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini responded on Friday (March 8) with the following:

“The city’s Environment and Waste Management Division has assessed the situation at the cemetery and has put plans in place to attend to the issues as of March 11.

“The cutting of grass will be done first, and the pruning of trees will then follow in the coming weeks. The city is aware of the missing steel palisades and the Real Estate Department will attend to it.”
