Family seeks missing man

The family needs to find him to gain closure.

A Reiger Park family is looking for Gaywin Landsberg, who went missing in 2018 (then 37 years old) after his father booked him a doctor’s appointment at Tambo Memorial Hospital on April 5.

His father, Vincent, said Gaywin never made it to the appointment.

“He used to live at the abandoned building at Boksburg North (old Martin School). He only returned home to Reiger Park on Excelsior Avenue when he was sick. He had a swollen foot.

“After I booked him a medical appointment, Gaywin left, saying he was going to see his friend, Fosie. After that, he never returned,” Vincent explained.

He added that they last saw Gaywin in a white T-shirt and black tracksuit pants.

He turns 41 this year and was born on January 13, 1981.

“His jaw is round, and he has small ears, thick lips, spaced teeth and is brown in complexion. He has a scar on one hand and a tattoo saying ‘Taylor’ between his shoulders at his back. His height is 1.85m, and he weighs about 90kg,” his father said.

“Because he was a person who normally disappeared and returned, we only opened the missing person case on September 28 because we realised he has been gone for a long time now,” he explained.

Vincent said Gaywin left his child, girlfriend, three sisters and himself.

“His mother passed away years ago. We, as his family, must find him to get closure. We want to know what happened to him. If he has passed away, we want to give him a proper funeral,” he mentioned.

Anyone who knows Gaywin can call Vincent on 074 901 1045 or his sister Gersha on 062 194 4882.
