Boksburg North cops’ trial to start next month

The officers allegedly forced their way into the premises and robbed the owner of the cables.

The two Boksburg North police officers arrested for cable theft returned to the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on August 17.

Sergeants Pretty Ndlovu and Solomon Hlengane face charges of copper theft, defeating the ends of justice and common robbery.

They were arrested at work on February 1 by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate. Each was granted R3 000 bail.

Ndlovu and Hlengane were both previously sector managers at the station.

Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu confirmed the officers are both back at work.

The matter was postponed to September 28 for trail.
