Breakthrough in car thefts with three arrests
The men attempted to steal a white Toyota Etios when they were arrested.
Three men believed to be involved in numerous car thefts were arrested at Medicross in North Rand Road on March 31.
The units involved in the arrests included Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection, Ekurhuleni District Trio Operational Task Team, STT Ekurhuleni Metro Police and Boksburg North SAPS.
Members from the units received a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a black Polo and when it was spotted and observed units saw the occupants attempting to steal a white Toyota Etios.
Signal jammers, two extra sets of number plates, other vehicles’ computer boxes and numerous other car theft implements were recovered.
Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Justice Ramaube confirmed the three men were arrested.
