Do you still have faith in our judicial system?

In light of the escape of convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester and the thousands of unsolved crimes in South Africa, the Advertiser asked a few locals if they have faith in the police and the judicial system.

Jace Labuschagne: No, I don’t have faith in our judicial system anymore. The police are not able to combat crime because they are too corrupt.

Shawn Mapfumo: They have to improve. There is a lot of corruption and they must get rid of those who are corrupt and do something about the camera systems at prisons.

Austin Chirwa: Yes, I trust the judicial system because some criminals do end up behind bars and pay for the crimes they committed.

Happiness Mavuingo: We all know the police are struggling with resources and there are a lot of criminals, but I do think most police officers are doing their best.

Praise Kanyezi: I do trust the judicial system, but I think the police can improve. They must just do their jobs properly and bring criminals to book.

Aphelele Lubuzo: I don’t trust the judicial system. Crime is out of control and it seems too many people are getting away with committing crimes.
