Raptors wrestlers win at nationals
The wrestlers won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
The Raptors Wrestling Club brought back a total of four medals after participating in the South African President Championships recently.
Competing in the primary schools division, the club’s Devan van Tonder, Anton Strydom, Juan Vorster and Ben Oosthuizen dominated their categories inside the squared circle to bring back two gold medals, one silver and one bronze from the competition.
“The wrestlers were chosen by the Ekurhuleni Wrestling Association to represent the province. This is an unbelievable achievement for the club as this is one of the toughest championships on the calendar,” said coach Jaco Vorster.
