St Dominic’s water polo team scoops bronze in tournament

The water polo team will play in another tournament from March 2 to 5.

St Dominic’s Catholic School water polo team scored a bronze medal in the Old Pets Tournament played at St Peter’s College from February 27 to 30.

The coach of the water polo team, Wade Marshall, said he is proud of his team.

“They played well in the tournament. It was only St Stithians College that beat us in the semi-finals and went on to win the tournament. It is a strong side.

“Our focus is to prepare for the upcoming tournament we will play at St Stithians College from March 2 to 5.,” said Marshall.

“We want revenge by beating the hosts. Our team consists of learners from Grades 8 to 11. There’s a national tournament we will play in September, so we need sponsors to cover our travelling and food costs.”

The captain of the polo team, Taylor Stanton, said they enjoyed the tournament.

“It is consistency and hard work that put us in third place. In the next tournament we are only going to have fun. I think we will play well if we go there without too much expectations. It will ease the pressure.

“We’d like to thank our coach for his enthusiasm and dedication to the team.”
