Owls in dire need of sponsor
The Boksburg rugby club is determined to play well in the upcoming rugby league.
Boksburg’s Owls Rugby Club is in dire need of a sponsor.
According to Vice Chairperson Renier Mostert, the club was recently registered as a non-profit organisation.
“Our aim is to develop rugby in our community. For us to do that and remain competitive, we need a sponsor.
“All funds generated, either through sponsorships, donations or other fundraising methods, go toward the players’ development, expenses, transport costs, equipment, jerseys, other kits, medical supervision and equipment, the hiring of the fields and service delivery levies,” he explained.
“A sponsor is urgently required to ensure we have sufficient funds at the start of our rugby season on March 25.
“Preparations for the season are already well underway.
“South African club rugby relies entirely on sponsorship and donations to survive and exist.
“If we don’t get a sponsor in time, it will have a detrimental effect on our players who come from disadvantaged families because we rely on sponsored items to help them.’”
