Three suspected shop robbers arrested in Reiger Park

The Dawn Park and Reiger Park SAPS arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery at The Corner Shop in Tunny Street, Groeneweide, on October 8.

According to the Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Nkemeleng Mabula, the police were tipped off that the suspects were in Reiger Park the day after the robbery.

“Officers tracked them down to Krighout Street where they were arrested. A black Polo, which is believed to have been the vehicle they used the day they robbed the shop, was also confiscated.”

Mabula explained the suspects had pretended to be customers.

“An employee of the shop told police one of the suspects was armed with a gun and that he was instructed to not move as they took money and cellphones and sped off in a car.”

The suspects appeared at the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on October 11.
