Vendors enjoy car boot sale, craft market

The Boksburg Advertiser's Car Boot and Craft Market has gained attraction from a lot of people in Boksburg.

The Boksburg Advertiser’s October 1 car boot sale, in conjunction with the Bokkie Park Food and Craft Market, was again a winner for vendors.

Elsie van der Merwe said she started coming to the car boot sale when it started some years ago, and has never looked back.

“Now I always book a spot at the car boot sale because I enjoy it here. We are pensioners and rely on the car boot sale to enjoy an outing and sell some of our second-hand items.

“It is a good vibe and the people are friendly and caring. I get to make money while also making friends. I made more money than I expected here today,” said van der Merwe.

She added the car boot sale has made life a bit easier.

Leslie Makawa, who was selling handmade wire bicycles at the craft market, said he doesn’t miss the monthly affair.

“Things are going well for me. I always get a lot of customers,” he said.
“I make these bicycles, which started as a hobby, and am glad to be making money.”

Erika Meyer, a market stallholder who sells arts and crafts, said the market is always a good place to make money.
“I never regret coming here and we have even expanded the business to two stalls because of being a vendor at the market,” said Meyer.
