Eastern Cricket congratulates club for CSA blue flag status

With this achievement the club will wear CSA Blue Flag logo on all cricket playing gear and will be awarded a CSA plaque of recognition.

Eastern Cricket Union congratulated the Kwa-Thema Cricket Club for obtaining blue flag status on September 26.

In a statement, the union said the club ticked all the boxes to ascertain the Club Quality Index (CQI) score of 90% to receive this recognition.

“On behalf of the president, board of directors, management and staff of Eastern Cricket, we congratulate Kwa-Thema Cricket Club for being recognised as one of the clubs that were awarded such status during the 2021-2022 season.

“The club has worked hard and deserves this status. Congratulations on this wonderful recognition of your merits and keep up the exceptional work,” the union said in a statement.

The club is among 14 teams to achieve this recognition and it is the only Eastern Cricket member on the list.

According to CSA, the blue flag status is a recognition given to clubs for running an effective cricket pipeline structure.

The club completed the CQI and was recognised for achieving CSA’s presidential plan’s aims and objectives.

With this achievement, the club will wear the CSA Blue Flag logo on all cricket playing gear and will be awarded a CSA plaque of recognition.

“We recognise the commitment of our clubs towards CSA’s strategic objectives to provide our cricketers with a wide variety of opportunities that offer exposure to showcase their talent.

“This accomplishment is just one step on their journey to make cricket accessible to all. The ability to search for solutions to challenges and find innovative ways to improve our club cricket system is the key to this success,” said CSA senior cricket manager Johan Weyers.
