Ambulance, truck, taxi among multiple vehicles in crash on N1

An ambulance was among the many vehicles involved in the accident.

According to Shawn Herbst, media liaison for Netcare 911, at 19:35 last night (June 2), the paramedic service responded to a collision on the N1 South near Garsfontein Road, in Pretoria.

“When medics arrived on scene they found twelve cars, a bus and trailer, mini-bus taxi, ambulance, and a truck were involved in the collision,” he said.

One person had sustained serious injuries and was flown by private helicopter ambulance to hospital.

Multiple other patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate and were treated on scene before being transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further care.
