Boksburg secure victory on a tough encounter

Boksburg FC will play against Old Bens on June 19 at PG Park.

Boksburg FC U15 defeated Alberton FC 4-3 in a nail-biting finish in the Easterns League Football Association Prem at DH Harris Stadium on June 12.

Alberton FC which lost their last two games used their home ground advantage in the first half with their keeper making good saves, denying the Boksburg-based team chances to score.
Defensive errors from Boksburg saw them conceding three goals before the first-half whistle.

Boksburg FC having redeemed themselves by scoring two goals from Jabez Varrie and Taylor Vrolik in the first half regrouped themselves in the second half and started building the ball from the back.
The intensity of the game was on a high level in the second half as both teams showed the desire to win.

Jabez Varrie scored the equalising goal in the 70th minute to make 3-3 and Lesego Mashala scored a last-minute goal that secured the victory for the team.
Coach Heinrich Loxton revealed what he and assistant coach Michael Martins told their players at halftime to stay strong and focus more on getting goals. “I think our talk worked.

“We knew coming to this game was not going to be easy because the opponents lost their last two games but credit should be given to our boys and goalkeeper for their amazing performance in the second half,” said the coach.
