These are some of the residents who cast their votes at Laerskool Concordia voting station on November 1.
The 2021 municipal elections have seen the DA retaining seven wards, but losing one (Ward 34) to the Patriotic Alliance.
Last week it was confirmed the party had taken Ward 17, 22, 23, 31, 32, 33 and 43.
The ANC won back all the wards it controls in Boksburg (Ward 42, 45 and 99). In Ward 34, the community clearly made its choice in favour of councillor candidate Edith Klassen of the Patriotic Alliance, which resulted in the party snatching Ward 34 from the DA.
Here are the councillors who won the hotly contested Boksburg wards:
ANC councillor Andile Daemane won Ward 99.
Patriotic Alliance candidate Edith Klassen won Ward 34.
DA councillor André du Plessis won back Ward 23.
Carolana (Lana) Marais of the DA won back Ward 43.
DA councillor Ashley Hoods has retained Ward 33 and will be serving his second term.
Madelaine Muller of the DA has been elected the new ward councillor for Ward 22.
DA councillor Simon Lapping has retained Ward 17 and will be serving his second term.
ANC councillor Nkululeko Sidu won Ward 45.
Tsotang Motloung won in Ward 42.
Simangele Sabe is the new DA councillor for Ward 31.
Residents of Ward 32 has once again put their faith in the DA’s Marius de Vos by electing him to be their ward councillor for a second consecutive term.
