TV weekly must watch

We’ve rounded up three great shows you should keep an eye out for this week.

Start with a comedy that tells the story of an intelligent, recently single girl who is forced to move in with their sister following a break-up. Then follow a dark crime drama about the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on board a Trident nuclear submarine. Or watch the return of a SAFTA-winning comedy about a career-woman and single mom who tries to keep up with paying her dues to her family, who supported her journey to success.

A depressed, self-proclaimed brainiac is forced to move in with her less than intelligent hot sibling and friends who show her the true way to happiness. Watch Pretty Smart now on Netflix.

Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva is choppered aboard a submarine after the death of one of its crew. Part of the UK’s nuclear deterrent, HMS Vigil must stay concealed while Silva gets to the bottom of this complex case unfolding beneath the waves. As connections to the unexplained disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler grow, Silva’s shoreside police colleagues find themselves in conflict with the Navy and British security services quicker than you can say “conspiracy!”. Vigil starts tonight on M-Net, DStv channel 101 at 8:30pm.

The hilarious Black Tax is back for season 2 and this time the extended Dlamini family have had to downscale. A new home brings a whole new set of problems, including meddlesome neighbours that complicate Thuli’s life even more. Now showing on Showmax.
