Khayalabantwana receives much-needed donations

Retired teacher who reside in Vosloorus, goes all out to reach out to the community of Windmill Park.

The former educator of Windmill Park Secondary School, Amos Rangatha, delivered heaps of clothes, shoes and bedding sheets to an NPO based in Windmill Park called Khayalabantwana (Home for the Children) on August 24.

Rangatha, who is no stranger to community work, unlocked the spirit of giving to his former learners who last year donated clothes, blankets, dishes and toys to the drop-in centre that caters for orphaned, neglected, destitute and vulnerable children.

Rangatha, who lives in Vosloorus, said his passion for the community of Windmill Park has made him not forget them even though he’s now a retired teacher.

“Having worked for the local school for years, I have seen that many pupils came from impoverished backgrounds, hence, with the little that I had I’ve always reached out to them.
“I am a person who always likes to see another person happy, so I know my donation today will touch lives,” said Rangatha.

Expressing gratitude for the donations received, the founder of the organisation, Sibongile Mkhwanazi, said: “ We are grateful for the donations that we’ve received. The donation will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries.”
