Help Hospice East Rand this Mandela Day

You can lend a helping hand by donating any unwanted or unused household items to Hospice’s charity shops.

With Mandela Day just around the corner, Hospice East Rand is appealing to the community for help.

Individuals and organisation can lend a helping hand by donating any unwanted or unused household items to Hospice’s charity shops.

Donations can be dropped off at any of the 10 Hospice charity shops situated throughout the East Rand or at the organisation’s depot situated at 216 Kemston Avenue, Western Extension, Benoni.

Hospice East Rand spokesperson Jonquil Siepman pointed out that local schools normally partner with Hospice on Mandela Day in their Bring-A-Thing campaign, where children bring a household item to school that they no longer need for Hospice to resell in its charity shops.

“However, this year, lockdown level four is preventing these loyal schools that support us from participating in this annual initiative. The campaign is the organisation’s biggest community drive for the year,” said Siepman.

“We are pleading for help and support from our community this year.”
