WATCH: Miss Boksburg finalist helps donate sanitary pads
Cebolenkosi Foundation and Shoprite’s Mobile kitchen assisted Miss Boksburg finalist Puseletso Manyelo with her community development initiative.
Ensuring girls do not miss school when they are on their periods, 15-year-old Miss Boksburg finalist Puseletso Manyelo handed over sanitary pads to 25 young girls of Ramaphosa informal settlement (Road Reserve) on June 4.
The handover took place at the Flock of God Ministry.
With the assistance of Cebolenkosi Foundation, spearheaded by Charlotte Mavimbela and her husband, the beneficiaries also went home with care packs that include soap, lotion and a roll-on.
Shoprite’s mobile kitchen (Centurion) also reached out by feeding about 300 young and old people from the area delicious soup and bread.
Puseletso, who also holds the Miss Ramaphosa title, said as part of the Miss Boksburg finalist duties, she has to organise community development projects.
“Members from my church, Flock of God Ministry, assisted me in finding sponsors to make today’s event a success. I entered the competition because I saw it as a platform to reach out to the community by taking part in charity projects,” said Puseletso.

Charlotte said as a foundation, their core value is to help people in need, especially schoolchildren who are close to their heart.
“Initiatives like these are good because we are able to make a difference in someone else’s life. I always tell people everyone has something to give, and when we give let’s not became weary in doing good,” said Charlotte.
