Write your own life story with local father and son’s app

Do you have a desire to write your autobiography but have no idea where to start?

Sunward Park’s Lean Badenhorst (37) and his father Johan (66) have a solution for you. They developed an online eBook app, Writeyourownlifebook, that will guide you through the writing process to pen your story.

The platform is created to ask you thousands of questions over multiple modules on https://www.writeyourownlifebook.com/ that will be made available every month for 12 months.
If you feel your story needs more oomph, the dual will organise a writer for you to finetune your manuscript.

You can share the eBook in PDF format (when completed) with your family, children and friends. It could also be a tool to get rid of all the emotions building up in you for years.

“We saw an opportunity to fulfil people’s need to write their life book. Not everyone is a gifted writer, but everybody has a story. We would like all users to be able to leave a story, tell a story and write their life story as life goes on. Memories tend to fade and our platform helps to capture these moments
“We can also upload your book onto our online bookstore and sell it on your behalf,” Lean explained.

The seed for the app was sowed after Johan wrote his own story in 2003 based on all the questions his children asked him in the past.

“He wondered if we could remember all the answers or if we took notes. During the lockdown last year, we began working on the idea, and about three weeks ago the platform was launched,” he added.

Lean said the initiative is being well supported by the community and 131 people already registered since the web launch.

The app is available on web/desktop, Android and IOS.
