New free-breathing Porsche 911 GT3 breaks cover
The 911 GT3 screams from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds before hitting the limiter at 317 km/h.
After countless teasers, Porsche has finally pulled back the wraps off its free-breathing 911 GT3 model.
Its powerplant comes courtesy of a naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine with 374 kW and 469 Nm of torque. The engine revs all the way to 9 000rpm and according to Porsche, it features six independent throttle bodies as well a new set of pistons.
All that amount of power is sent to the rear axle via a standard seven-speed PDK transmission. Purists rejoice, a six-speed manual comes as an option.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 features integrated cooling intakes, adjustable front lip spoiler and diffuser. It also spawns a wider track that now measures 1.9-inches compared to the standard 911 Carrera.
The rear is fitted with a manually adjustable wing, pair of circular exhaust tips as well as a diffuser.
Weight has been reduced by using a carbon fibre reinforced plastic on the hood, rear wing, and spoiler.
It rides on 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the back. Porsche says the wheels are 1.6kg lighter than those fitted on the previous GT3.
The stopping prowess comes from standard 408 mm cast-iron discs in the front. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are an option and measure 410 mm in the front.
