Audi’s new e-Tron GT marks a new take on performance electric cars
They both use an electric motor situated on each axle as well as a rear-mounted two-speed automatic transmission.
Audi is set to expand its fully-electric portfolio with the new e-Tron GT and RS e-Tron GT models that mark a new take on performance electric vehicles.
The new Audi e-Tron GT is 4 990 mm long, 1 960 wide and 1 410 mm tall. The dimensions have resulted in a boot space that measures 405 litres and 85 litres in the front.
The base e-Tron GT lurks a 93.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and according to Audi, it can be recharged from 5% – 80% in just 23 minutes when using the 800-volt electric socket.
They both use an electric motor situated on each axle as well as a rear-mounted two-speed automatic transmission.
The base e-Tron GT churns out 350 kW of power and 630 Nm of torque enabling it to hurdle from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds before topping at 245 km/h. The top of the range RS e-Tron GT puts out 440 kW/ 830 Nm and will accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.3 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 250 km/h.
There is an overboost function that increases the power to 390 kW and 475 kW respectively for short spurts.
Other features include an air suspension, four-wheel steering (optional in the base model but standard in the RS), new 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, as well as Audi’s 10.1-inch MMI touch display.
For an additional fee, buyers can opt for the Matrix-LED headlights. There are standard 20-inch wheels while 21-inches can be fitted to the RS variant.
