Pensioner dies, son stabbed during house robbery in Impala Park

The suspects got away with the victim's vehicle and an undisclosed amount of money

A man sustained multiple stab wounds after four armed robbers allegedly ambushed him and his employee at his house in the Etosha complex, on the corner of Bonanza and Ridge roads, Impala Park, on November 2.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the employee told police the suspects approached his boss outside the house on Monday afternoon, as they were about to leave the premises.

“The victim alleged that on his way to his employer’s car, he saw that his boss was being assaulted. As he went closer to see what was going on, the suspects forced him and his boss inside the house. The boss’s parents were also at home during the incident.

“The victim was allegedly downstairs while the robbers, his employer and employer’s parents were upstairs. He then apparently heard one of the robbers speaking over the phone, asking where the money is.

“A few minutes later he saw his boss’s mother coming downstairs with the robbers. One of them was carrying a bag containing money,” said Ramaube.

Ramaube said the employee then went upstairs to check on his boss and found him in a pool of blood and saw he had been stabbed several times.

“He and his mother were taken to hospital; however, the mother had no visible injuries even though she had been assaulted,” Ramaube said.

Ramaube added the victim also found his boss’s father (79) lying on the floor. He was later certified dead.

“The cause of death is still unknown as he did not show any visible signs of injuries,” said Ramaube.

The robbers got away with the victim’s white Nissan van and an undisclosed amount of money.

A case of house robbery with aggravating circumstances has been opened at Boksburg North SAPS.
