Tambo Babies baby booty/sock challenge a success

Over 400 pairs of baby socks were donated to the organisation

Tambo Babies Boksburg announced that Annalize Foster is the winner of their baby booty/sock challenge.

The aim of the challenge was to encourage members of the community to knit or crochet socks to keep babies in need warm during the winter.

Foster, an Elspark resident, knitted 350 pairs of baby booties and will receive a cash prize of R250.

Over 400 pairs of socks were donated during the challenge that started during the lockdown and will be distributed among the needy people in the community.

Tina Moolman from the NPO said that Tambo Babies regularly receives donations in the form of jerseys and blankets. However, people don’t want to knit booties.

Anybody who would like to contribute to the sustainability of the organisation may drop off wool or knitted items at The Wool Centre in Boksburg North or contact Tina on 073 345 1419.
