A number of motor vehicles stolen in Boksburg

The Boksburg SAPS reported the following cases of stolen vehicles

• A Nissan 1400 bakkie was stolen from Langenhoven Street, Parkrand, on March 1.

• A Sunward Park Hospital patient’s white Toyota was stolen from the hospital parking area on March 3. The victim told police she had parked the car and went to the doctor’s room, but returned later to where the car was parked to find that it was gone.

• A man was arrested and charged with theft after he stole a padlock from the Shoprite branch in Commissioner Street, Boksburg CBD, on February 29.

• In Freeway Park, a woman’s Polo Trendline was stolen from a residential property on Hazendal Road. The victim told police she had parked her car at about 6pm on February 28, but woke up the following day to find that it was gone.

• A Germiston woman’s car, a silver Toyota Etios, was stolen while parked in the Boksburg City Stadium’s parking lot on February 28.

• A driver’s vehicle, belonging to his boss, was hijacked as he was driving along Trichardts Road in Sunward Park on February 28. According to the police statement, the victim’s vehicle was blocked by two other vehicles as he was passing Kingfisher Avenue. A gang of gunmen jumped out of the two vehicles and confronted him.

He was then tied up with cable ties and forced to lie down in the vehicle before one of the thugs drove his company’s vehicle to an undisclosed location, where he was later dumped.

• A Toyota Etios worth about R143 000 was stolen from the Boksburg City Stadium’s parking lot on February 27. The driver, a woman, parked the car at about 8.30am and went into the stadium. She later returned to the parking area to find that thieves have stolen her car.

• A Boksburg CBD resident’s white Ford Ranger was stolen while parked on Market Street on February 27. At about 11.30am the victim had parked his vehicle in the area and left. But when he returned to the spot at about 1.30pm the vehicle was nowhere to be found. The vehicle, worth about R150 000, was later found in Vosloorus by a tracking company.
