Lakeside beats its competitors in inter-school athletics

During the event held at the Boksburg City stadium early this month, the school’s runners reportedly gave their best and their efforts saw them coming out at the top beating their competitors Parkdene, Parkrand, Summerfields and Freeway Park primary schools.

Lakeside Primary School athletes have begun the year with a bang as they have once again won the 2020 inter-school athletics title.

“It was indeed one of Lakeside’s proudest moments to start the year on such a high note, especially since the school is also celebrating its 40th year of existence,” said the school principal Craig Jansen.

The Lakeside Primary School athletes flew their school’s flag high in the 2020 inter-school athletics with a win.

The ecstatic principal pointed out that the victory was as a result of hard work, dedication and uncompromising teamwork.

He thanked the team doing the coaching, saying they have gone an extra mile to ensure that his school’s athletics team become one of the best in the city.

The team of trainers are Cheslin van Stade, Marshall Hartzenberg and Nicole Moosa.

Describing his team’s performance, Jansen said the team took the lead right from the start as they remained on the frontline in almost all the long distance races, followed by the sprints that catered for some nail-biting races.
