Boxer Tommy Gun in hot water again

He is set to appear at the Boksburg court on March 2.

Boxing bad boy Thomas Oosthuizen has been arrested on charges of assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm and is under police custody at the Boksburg prison.

According to Boksburg police, the pugilist was nabbed at the Boksburg court this past Monday where he was meant to appear on child maintenance charges.

But because of his arrest, he was given a new date to appear for the child maintenance charges.

The police also told the Advertiser that the assault incident took place at a pub in Parkdene in November but an arrest had not been immediately made because they hadn’t been made aware of the case.

Speaking on the assault charges, the police said according to the information they received, the complainant made a joke about the boxer which the pugilist was not impressed about before he tried attacking the complainant.

Oosthuizen was then ordered to leave the pub but once outside, he allegedly attacked a man (supposedly the one who tried to stop him) before going back into the pub to attack the complainant – leaving him with serious facial injuries.

Oosthuizen was also arrested earlier this month by Dawn Park police for common assault, a case separate to the above.

According to Boksburg Magistrate’s Court senior prosecutor Henk Strydom, the case was not placed on the court roll due to technical reasons, including a lack of proof of injuries and the complainant’s statements being inconsistent.
