A Villa Liza man was taken to the Thelle Mogoerane Hospital after he was brutally assaulted by the community on November 17.
According to the Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Nkemeleng Mabula, the police received a complaint of mob justice around 2.30pm at Ulundi in Villa Liza.
“The police found the victim at an open field with multiple injuries all over his body. It seems as if he was brutally beaten.
“An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital,” Mabula said.
Mabula said the man’s hands and legs were tied together when the police found him.
A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm has been opened.
Police are still investigating and no one has been arrested.
According to a reliable source it has emerged that the victim died in hospital but the police couldn’t confirm.
