Number of customers registered on metro’s service payment platform grows

Customers who were on the old website are urged to re-register to view, manage and pay their municipal accounts conveniently.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s upgraded service payment website Siyakhokha has recorded new 79 165 customers registering for the service.

This is according to Nhlanhla Cebekhulu, divisional head communication and media relations at the metro.

He said the service payment platform hit the 79 165 mark on August 21, two months after its launch in July.

“To date, the new website has been visited by 334 718 people and the number of linked municipal accounts is 124 670. The amount processed on the Siyakhokha website since it was launched is R51 204 835.”

He said the platform was upgraded from the old website.

“The upgrades were necessitated by the need to align the platform with the digital city Ekurhuleni aspire to be, and will ultimately result in a service payment platform that is user-friendly and easily accessible.

The old website www.e-siyakhokha.co.za is no longer in use. Instead, customers will now have to log on to Siyakhokha.ekurhuleni.gov.za.

Municipal accounts may also be paid at Customer Care Centres, Spar, banks, Pick n’ Pay, Checkers, Pep Stores, Makro and Builders Warehouse.
