Check your car before the Easter holidays
Motorists are reminded it is important that vehicles are roadworthy and ready before embarking on a long road trip.
The Easter holidays are a week away, which means now is a good time for motorists to have their cars checked to ensure safety on the road.
Dewald Ranft, chairman of the Motor Industry Workshop Association (MIWA), which is in association of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI), says despite the long weekends almost upon us it’s not too late to have your vehicle checked before hitting the road.
He suggests that motorists make an appointment for a car check as soon as possible.
“The mechanics will do a thorough check of the vehicle which may include a road test and an assessment of the lights, suspension, drive lines, brakes, tyres (including spare and tools), fluid levels, wipers and windscreen, V Belts and exhaust,” said Ranft.
“Many accidents, especially over the Easter weekend, are a result of vehicles not being serviced or maintained.
“Please, lets all do our part to reduce the deaths on our roads,” he concluded.
