Sector 3 CPF determined to keep community safe

The EMPD K9 Unit officers put up quite a show and even gave some of the children a chance to interact with the trained dogs.

The Boksburg North Sector 3 CPF held a fun fund-raising event at the Parkdene Park on March 30, also donating a panic button, sponsored by E-Track, to Ana Lourens, a 92-year-old resident.

The objective was not only to raise funds but also to encourage the community to get involved with the new and collaborated Parkdene/Cinderalla CPF.

Krav Maga professionals also demonstrated how one can turn tables on hijackers with an exciting hijacking scenario. This demonstration clearly indicated that one should always listen to the hijacker as there was no need to be a hero.

“It is important for the public to feel safe. We hope that this event was informative and that we changed people’s views on the CPF.

“The newly-shaped Boksburg North CPF will definitely be more effective as we now have 40 patrollers and about 500 members,” said Rudi Jacobs from the CPF

On the donation by the CPF of a panic button to the 92-year-old Lourens, CEO of E-Tack Trevor Ackermann, the company that sponsored it, said: “After we assisted her one night, we felt that she needs a panic button. It is a strong tracking device. We are able to see exactly where she is when she presses the button.”

E-Track donated a panic button to 92-year-old Ana Lourens. With her is Trevor Ackermann, CEO of E-Tack.

Ackermann said the E-Track would give panic buttons to the CPF to sell.

“We seriously are considering becoming members after today’s event. My child adored the mascot and jumping castles We recently moved to Boksburg and didn’t know anything about the CPF,” said Shakeela and Ridwaan Jacobs, who supported the fun day.
