Fund-raiser in Reiger Park to boost local early childhood development centres

The event will feature a host of activities for children and adults.

Residents of Reiger Park and surrounding townships are urged to support a fund-raiser to be held on March 9.

The family fun day to raise much-needed money for chosen local early childhood development centres (ECDs) will be taking place at the Reiger Park Secondary School sports ground.

These activities include jumping castles, music, a host of children’s games, quad biking, mini soccer games, trampolines, magicians, clowns, face painting and others.

Money will be raised through the sale of tickets: R50 for children, R40 for adults and R10 extra for tickets bought at the gate.

One of the organisers, CRM Events Management’s Collen Makoane, said the day is a great way for the community, including charity and faith-based organisations, to come together and raise money for the needy members of the community.

CRM Events Management is supported by numerous ECDs from Reiger Park, Ramaphosa, Delmore Park, Delmore Gardens, Windmill Park and surrounding areas.

Makoane said as an event management business operating in the different townships, they decided to do something positive for the community, and that serves as their way of giving back to the communities that support their company.

“Although stretch tents will be erected to supply attendees with shade, supporters are advised to bring their own gazebos or garden umbrellas,” said Makoane.

People are also welcome to bring their braai stands and picnic baskets.

Representatives of several different government departments, such as the SAPS, EMPD and the Department of Social Development, are also expected to be in attendance.
