The Van Dyk Park swimming pool, which has been closed down for more than 10 years, will soon receive much-needed attention from the metro.
According to Themba Gadebe, metro spokesperson, a budget has been allocated for reconstruction of the pool.
Van Dyk Park residents have raised their frustrations about the abandoned swimming pool.
“The place has become a hiding place for thieves and due to the tall grass, mosquitoes have created a nest there. That place is just terrible,” said one resident.
