Sunward Park home burgled while victims were fast asleep

Below are some of the serious crimes recently reported to the Boksburg police:

Burgled

• Burglars broke into a Sunward Park residential house and stole goods worth thousands of rand while the family was asleep in the same building during the night of January 9 between 11pm and 5am the following day.

• The family woke up at about 5am to find that a glass door of the house was forced open and a DVD player and TV set was stolen.

Police are now investigating a case of housebreaking but no arrests have been made so far.

Stolen vehicles

• A woman was left stranded after her car, a Toyota Corolla, was stolen from the parking lot on Bert Lacey Drive outside Netcare Sunward Park Hospital, on January 10.

The victim parked her car and went inside the hospital at about 11am. She returned to the parking lot about an hour later to find that her car is gone. Police are investigating a case of theft of a motor vehicle.

• Another vehicle, Hyundai H100, was stolen while parked in the roadside parking near the corner of Commissioner and Bloem streets in the Boksburg CBD, at about 10.40am on January 11.
