Armed robbers strike in Sunward Park, Comet Village

Goods of thousands of rand were stolen in the two separate incidents.

In a home invasion, robbers forced their way into a residential house on Totley Road, Sunward Park on November 4.

The victim told the police that she was in the study room at about 12.30am when she noticed unknown men, the intruders, coming towards her and instructed her to keep quiet.

They grabbed her by her hair and dragged her into the main bedroom. In the bedroom, there were two other robbers who held up her husband.

The couple was forced to open the safe.

Thereupon, the thugs ransacked the house, stealing goods including a TV set, notebook, two Blackberry cellphones, Alcatel cellphone, a watch, ID book, driver’s licence and cosmetics all worth about R26 700.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

• In Comet Village, balaclava-clad robbers forced their way into a residential property and robbed the family of a TV set, Samsung J7 cellphone and R700 in cash, on October 30.

The victims, a couple, were watching TV when they heard someone banging the door. The boyfriend went to open the door and noticed two men standing next to the door.

He tried to close the door, but the thugs immediately pushed it and entered the house.

The couple was forced to go into one of the rooms and remain there while the thieves were ransacking the property.
