Boksburg beauty walks away with Apprentesses title

An extravagant evening of glitz and glamour awaited all guests upon arrival at the Royal Elephant Hotel in Centurion on Saturday, August 11.

Miss Earth South Africa 2016 semi-finalist Luré Delport is now an Apprentesses 2018 winner.

Apprentesses is a competition to empower young women in the entertainment industry of South Africa and the perfect platform to pursue their dreams to be in the spotlight.

“What an amazing feeling when my name was called out as this year’s Apprentesses winner. I was overwhelmed and couldn’t believe that all the hard work was noticed,” said Delport, who felt that getting out of her comfort zone was the biggest leap of faith she needed to take.

“I will now be able to live out my passion. I have been preparing for the past year for this journey and worked with a life coach that assisted me with practical one-on-one training sessions and workshops.

“As an Apprentesses winner I will be attending various events, travel internationally and will work closely with the Apprentesses management team consisting of Tarien Cronjé and Yolande Nelson.”

She said she will be equipped and skilled to perform to the pinnacle of her abilities while building a brand within the industry and be the face of the brand and their associates.

“Apprentesses provides a platform for women who wishes to pursue a career within the entertainment industry. The competition is not just about the glamour and luxury lifestyle that awaits, but includes opportunities that assist with building your own brand while simultaneously growing and promoting the brand of your partners and sponsors.

“Women are able to enter and the platform was created to empower them and build their confidence and self esteem over a six month period.  While on the journey they are closely monitored by their overall performance and an interview round.

“Being an Apprentesses ambassador is not just about exterior beauty but about inner strength, confidence and maturity.”

The 28-year-old from Boksburg obtained her bachelor’s degree in education, as well as her honours in learner support, (completing her master’s) at the North-West University in Potchefstroom.

She describes herself as an extremely driven person, with a deep love for education.

“Education is my hobby and my passion,” she said and, in the same breath, added that she would love to empower all children, especially vulnerable children.

“Since starting on the Apprentesses journey my life has taken on paths I never thought possible. It has enabled me to take on avenues and venture into the unknown.

“I love meeting new people every day, sharing my passions and not knowing what tomorrow might bring, ensures that ‘I live my life to its fullest today’.

“For now my career as a teacher will take a back seat as my diary is packed to capacity with a lot of travelling scheduled, which includes modelling and photo shoots.”

She said her biggest motivation and role model is her ‘Oumie’.

“She made sure that the values and morals I live by is solid and that I always stay true to myself. It has been an amazing journey and the best is yet to come.”
