Reiger Park man arrested for possession of Khat, dagga

The 33 year old suspect was locked up at Reiger Park police station and charged with possession and dealing in narcotics.

 

The EMPD  Drug Enforcement Unit was joined by the EMPD Equestrian Unit members in acting upon information about a man suspected of drug-peddling who resides in Reiger Park on Tuesday, August 21.

According to Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, on arrival at the given address the officers found five persons at the property which included two minors.

“One of the male adults was found in possession of eight small ziplocks of Khat, two larger ziplocks and dagga weighing 0,015kg with the total estimated value of R2600,” said Kgasago.

“A 10l bucket containing unknown substance suspected to be narcotics was confiscated to be tested at the SAPS forensic laboratory.

“The house’s electricity pre-paid meter was found to be non-functional yet the power was present. Investigations to establish whether the household power is illegally connected are underway.”

He was expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court this week.
