Watch: SAPS and CPF share love with the elderly on Mandela Day

The parties shared love and kindness with senior citizens of Huis Dien Bothma and Witfield Park who received the spoils on the special Mandela Day. The residents received muffins and coffee. They were also entertained.

For the Boksburg North SAPS, the CPF (Sector 3 and 4) and De Klerk Estate, Mandela Day was all about showing respect to the elderly.

“Today is about giving back to you,” was the Boksburg North SAPS message to the elderly.

Letitia Festraets, who represented the CPF, opened the proceedings with a prayer. A learner from the Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen, Keegan Roux, rendered some golden oldies such as Liefling.

Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Captain Juanita Coetzer thanked Huis Dien Bothma and Witfield Park residents for always receiving the SAPS with a warm welcome.

Coetzer reminded the residents of the significance of the Mandela Day, thanking them for setting a good example for the next generation.

It might have been a cold day, but the elderly huddled under blankets and were warmed up with refreshments, good cheer and entertainment.
