A wonderful day of fun and joy in honour of Madiba

The children were jumping, smiling and receiving so much love, while the management of Pikanini take a breather from worrying where the next meal, stationery or running costs will come from.

Recently opened Pikanini Childhood Development Crèche at the NG Church in 14th Avenue, Boksburg North, forms part of the Hanna Grobler Charity and is totally reliant on donations.

On Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday, Pikanini received welcome donations from Semane Consulting Engineers that donated R45 000 and also a gigantic load of groceries, toiletries, stationery and baby and toddler necessities.

“We wanted to make it a fun day for the children,” said Charmaine Msibi from Semane.

The 30 children at Pikanini received party packs and lunch, had their faces painted and could jump on the jumping castle the whole day.

Semane staff filled the kitchen with good spirit and delicious smells. Here is Wilhemina Molefe (left) and Hester Booysen behind the pots.

Semane staff also cooked up a storm to feed the children and staff of the crèche, as well as some of the hungry community members in the surrounding area of Boksburg North.

“This donation is going to help so much,” said Pikanini manager Charlene Jackson.
